Bring back the vitality in your smile!
Teeth whitening is a simple, efficient, and convenient way to reduce discoloration and stains, returning your smile to that youthful sparkling glow.
How it works:
First, your teeth and gums are examined and cleaned. Next, we complete any treatment needed on back teeth prior to whitening. When the treatment plan allows, we typically opt to restore front teeth after whitening so that the restorative material will match the shade of the whiter teeth. Finally, we make impressions (molds) of your teeth.
At our office we use a non-invasive, at-home bleaching kit. We make customized, pliable plastic trays based on models made from the impressions. These trays carry the prescription-strength bleaching gel onto the teeth. This process whitens just as well as in-office techniques, like ZOOM and laser treatments.
The peroxide-based gel comes in different strengths, based on the amount of whitening desired and the potential for sensitivity.
Because every patient is unique, so is their result with teeth whitening. Some patients may experience mild sensitivity; however, others might have none at all. When a patient experiences sensitivity, we stop whitening for a few days, let it subside, and then start again.
We achieve beautiful whitening in almost every case. The degree of whitening varies, but this is not totally predictable. The degree of whitening depends on the amount of stain and discoloration at the start, the patient’s diet and hygiene habits, the strength of the gel, and how often and long it is used.
Because of the flexible method, the patient decides how often, how long, and where to wear the trays. Generally, a bright, cheerful smile is yours in about two weeks!
Additional Cosmetic Options – New Contours for Your Teeth and Gums
Used in a variety of circumstances, tooth recontouring involves reshaping your teeth. You may have a chipped edge, teeth out of alignment, or possibly need a bite correction.
You may opt for gum recontouring when your teeth look too short or your gum tissue shows too much when you smile.
Both of these procedures are relatively easy and can show dramatic results. They will help you achieve a healthier mouth while markedly improving your beauty, comfort and function.
